Fire Marshals/deputies to familiarise themselves with escape routes and doors, noting fire alarm points and fire telephones at each exit.
Fire Alarm System: Intermittent tone and voice instruction - warning.
Continuous Tone and voice instruction - evacuate.
This will be a staged evacuation co-ordinated by Security.
Each floor will also be contacted by the public address system and receive instructions on what actions to take.
On Evacuation:
Fire Wardens (Deputies) to ensure floor is cleared of personnel.
Checking toilets/conference rooms/kitchens, etc, giving special consideration to disabled persons. Wheelchairs are to be taken out to Fireman’s Lift Lobby East or West.
Notify security control via the fire telephones in Fireman’s lift lobbies of:
i. Status of floor evacuation.
ii. Location and nature of fire, if on warden’s floor.
iii. Any assistance required, i.e.: for injured or disabled persons to be evacuated by fireman’s lift.
Close all doors.
Do not use lifts.
Report to Assembly Points as follows:
BUILDING 1 & 2
Grd to 5th Floor } TO THE REAR OF BUILDING 5
6th to 10th Floor } TO THE REAR OF BUILDING 4
11th to 16th Floor } TO THE REAR OF BUILDING 3
Unless otherwise instructed via the public address system.
Make Roll Call at Assembly Point assuring all personnel are accounted for.
Report to Building Management/Security Fire Marshal at Roll Call Point.
If the General Alarm sounds on your floor:
1. Ensure floor evacuation is complete and report this to the Fire Control Point via the Fire Telephone located in the fire escape stair lobbies.
NOTE: There are no fire telephones provided at ground floor level.
2. If the fire is located on your floor, attack the fire with the equipment provided if possible but do not take any personal risk. Report the fire situation to Fire Control Point via the Fire Telephone as above.
3. Leave the building and proceed to you pre-determined assembly point.
Outside Normal Office Hours (If Floor Fire Warden Available)
If the Alert signal or General Alarm sounds:
1. Ensure floor evacuation is complete.
2. If the fire is located on your floor, attack the fire with the equipment provided if possible but do not take any personal risks. Report the fire situation to Fire Control Point via the Fire Telephone.
3. Leave the building and proceed to your pre-determined assembly point.
